Hey travelers! If you are planning a trip that includes Roatan, Honduras, you need to make sure Little French Key is part of your plans- You’ll thank me later. From the moment we arrived at LFK we were greeted by calming island vibes and beautiful sunshine. We were given a quick tour of the island and found the perfect spot to claim as our own for the day – right at the edge of those beautiful waters. We were in the mood for some adventure and decided to check out the water activities the island offers. There is truly something for everyone here.
Feel like gliding across the water? Grab a paddleboard or hop into a kayak. Or if you’re feeling a bit more daring, swing off the ropes and leap into the refreshing ocean below. Snorkeling gear is also included, and the shallow water makes for great snorkeling- we discovered some pretty impressive conch shells!
While LFK offers stunning scenery and plenty of activities, there is still so much more to this island. LFK is also an animal sanctuary to an array of animals: some whom roam free and call the island home and others – such as tigers- who are undergoing rehabilitation with hopes of rehoming to larger sanctuaries in the future. Monkeys, peacocks, pigs, ducks, pigeons, and chickens roam the island freely. Animal encounters such as swimming with pigs and riding horses along the beach offer unique experiences that are sure to create lasting memories.
Last, but not least- Let’s talk about food! They have a full menu of delicious food and drinks to choose from. We had a package that included a meal and two drinks. The Island platter was delicious and allowed us to try chicken, shrimp, and tenderloin along with rice and beans. The fish and chips kept us going back for more!
